This shot was taken in downtown Clarksville, Ohio. It is of the fire escape on the side of what used to be the old Post Office. I have always loved the grungy look to this spot.
Not sure about the vibrancy and saturation on this one. But I liked this version the most.
I ran across this barn in Morrow, Ohio. I think it's a newer restored barn but loved it's colors and contrast. It sits pretty much right in town, and next to a house.
This shot was taken at the Little Miami State Park in Maineville, Ohio. This little park sits right next to the river and near the entrance your right under this monster of a bridge. I loved the view and how small it made me feel.
Some things are just amazing when you look at them in a different perspective.
My fascination with old barns here in Ohio continues. This one is just outside Morrow, Ohio not far from the Little Miami River. I haven't seen another barn with the roof to come down so low.
Could you imaging the history behind all of these old barns.
This photo really tells a lot about me (sadly) and my feelings and emotions as of late. I think everyone has had the thought cross their mind once. End it all, just do it. I have, many times in the past three years. Am I crazy? No, cause it's an easy way out, but easy isn't always the best.
After a divorce, my son passing away last March, and now losing my job I have many people ask me how I can be so strong about it and keep moving forward. When they ask that, I really ask myself the same thing. I mean really, what other choice do I have? I have another son that depends on me, and he looks up to me. I can't back down, crawl in a corner, whine, complain, or sit back and let the world swallow me whole. I have to fight. I have to battle for myself and my family.
I will not give in, nor will I keep my head down.
This bridge is pretty familiar to some of my local friends. It is located just outside of Martinsville, Ohio. I wish I would have gotten a shot of it before it was restored a few years back, whoever it's still a pretty neat little bridge.
The reason for the title is that I have passed this many, many times going to my grandparent's home.
This was another treasure found at the old Trading Post. I love decay of things that were meant to last forever or at least marketed to. Was hoping to get a little more texture with this one, but was pleased with the turn out.
This is another shot from my little adventure at the Fort Ancient Trading post. I am still just amazed at how I have drove by this place all my life and have never once stopped in until a few days ago. I am so glad I did. The owner was a great gentleman and fun to talk to. It just goes to show you, just cause you appreciate it when you drive by, doesn't mean you have seen all there is to see....
If you would like more info on the Fort Ancient Trading post you can do so HERE.
I stopped in at Fort Ancient Trading Post just outside of Clarksville, Ohio. I have always wanted to shoot some of the stuff this guy has sitting around outside. So, today I stopped in and got permission. A great guy and an amazing little spot that has TONS of trinkets.
This shot was taken from the inside of a withered and torn old school bus. I love this stuff.

Many of you already know I have a deep passion for photography. I have a fire inside me when I even think about holding my camera. I have the love for the art of capturing something,.....anything. Emotion, energy, personality, history, and artistic are all able to be captured with that one click.
I want to pursue my dreams. I would love to be able to support my family with what I love to do. But, the reality is in my mind, can it happen? Am I good enough? How would I get the stability to go at this alone? So many questions yet to be answered.

These gates are another fascination of mine. I have always wondered what they are all about. They are located in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio.
This shot and title have much meaning. Yesterday I lost my job after working there for 12 years. I started when I was 18. Rough and challenging times.....
UPDATE:
After some research this was called the 'Public Vault" by the owners and originators of Sugar Grove Cemetery. It was built in 1912 and was used as what would be referred to as a "makeshift" morgue in the early days where everything was hand dug. The bodies were stored in this vault until the ground could thaw and then they received a proper burial. I was told it has not been used since the early 50's.
This photo made my day when I seen it finished. Two of the most beautiful things in my life, my loving fiance and nature.
I shot this on our getaway trip to Krohn's Conservatory in Cincinnati, Ohio. Used was the D300s with the 50mm prime 1.4 lens.
This vintage building ad has been something I have always loved. Today I finally captured it for myself. It is located in Wilmington, Ohio right beside the old diner. I had a very hard time deciding if to go B&W with this one but wanted to show it's current state and feel a little more than I could have with black and white.
I think this speaks volumes from the past. I would love to just go back into time when this was in it's prime.

This is another far from special photo again today. This is STRAIGHT from the DROID. However, with all the stress from anxiety issues, and the fact I might be jobless in the near future, I have been trying to escape.
Today's escape was to give Carrie & Clay's hamster "Brutie" an DIY Fairchild style home. Carrie thought I was nuts. I thought it was a great idea. I have TONS I mean tons of worthless junk around the house that I can use for things like this. So after a few 3rd degree hot glue gun burns it's finished.
The best part of this it gave me a few hours of uninterrupted stress free concentration and brainstorming. Life isn't as hateful to me right now.

Just think about it. There is always that one moment, that second, where you feel some sort of anxiety, or maybe paranoia. It's like you wake up, take your shower, and finish your usual morning routine, and you have a feeling. A feeling that something bad is going to happen to you.
Well, for me that feeling usually turns into a reality......
Yes, another emotional 365 shot. This is a rough time for me. Have reached a breaking point with life itself. Multiple issues multiple problems, and a different one everyday.
I want peace like in this shot. This tree is un-judged, overlooked, and at peace with itself. That is what I yearn for right now. Just peace..................
I am that person. The person that has so many things that keep getting worse in his life. I can't feel anymore. Well, that is unless it's paranoia, anxiety, sadness, loneliness, numbness and or fear. This is me.....
I snapped this while my son was playing with his Lego's. This isn't the greatest and was just a quick shot while playing with f/1.4 on the 50mm. I thought it looked cool, so hear it is.
This photo was shot with my Lensbaby Muse. I have always loved how this train is still in operation and is a tourist attraction for Lebanon Ohio.
I went for a different angle on this for a better perspective.
This is part of the old Clinton Massie Clarksville School in Clarksville, Ohio. I can remember as a kid that this part of the old school was used for many small events in the community. One memory of this wing I have is they used to have a woman's exercise group that my Mom would drag me along to. I can remember running through the old classrooms and hallways. This plays always had a haunting feel to me.
This is the same technique as yesterday's photo. I had a few issues with focus on a few of the shots, but that was due to it being 15 degrees and my fingers were getting numb. Ahhh the things we do for photography.
I have been wanting to shoot an idea like this for quite some time. Here is the result. Didn't turn out too bad for first attempt.

I spotted this little ginormous guy while driving outside of Wilmington, Ohio. He made for an interesting subject. It was around 10 degrees F out and I composed this fairly quickly. Wish I would have achieved a better focus of his facial features.
Animals like this amaze me at how relaxed and casual they are even in the coldest temperatures. Magnificent creatures they are.

I spotted this guy perched in an old tree while driving just outside of Wilmington Ohio. My plan was to snap him while I was perched. Wouldn't you know it just as soon as I framed him up he took off. I snapped away blindly and was surprised that I actually got a decent shot of him. Nature is amazing.

I love old barns, ever since I was younger I have had a fascination with them. Before I die I would like to compose a project of all the old barns in Clinton County and print them in a book. The more abandoned and deteriorated the better. These are a vanishing subject of our local rural history.
This barn is located just outside of Blanchester, Ohio in Clinton County. I composed this a few different ways and decided I liked this one the best.

This shot was taken in between Lebanon and Mason, Ohio on Route 42. I loved the look to this. Not sure about my composition on this one though. I decided to go for some nice vibrant color. I think I got that and then some.

I have had this idea for quite sometime after being inspired by a fellow photographer. When I took this it was 12 degrees out. I was freezing so rushed it a bit. Pleased with the turnout though.
I have always hoped this is what it will be like when I pass. To see the reaction of my passing and to watch over my family and friends. Faith, I assume.

I seen this guy at Traders World Flea Market in Monroe, Ohio and just had to shoot him. I decided to use the Lensbaby due to the fact I want to use it more to get used to it.
After shooting this I immediately thought of the Toys R Us Giraffe from the 80's.

The image resulted after playing with my new Lensbaby Muse I got for Christmas. The Lensbaby is going to take some getting used to. It's a super fun lens though. Taken at a higher ISO to get some grain.
